How it all began:

Five years ago my nephew stayed over for a week and he brought his play station with several games. I had never seen a play station in my whole life, so I was really curious how it worked. I played all the games he brought, but the one that made me buy my own play station was Tomb Raider. Since that very day I am a huge Lara fan! A few months after I bought my play station, I got a job in a Belgian video games store, Game Mania.

Being surrounded by games all the time, my fascination got bigger.

After a while customers knew about my interest in the Tomb Raider games and started calling, coming to the store with their memory cards hoping I could help them because they got stuck. They even - including my boss - started calling me Lara when I changed my hair colour from blonde to brown. That gave me the idea of dressing myself up like Lara and participate in this contest!

First thing I had to do was find clothes! Not an easy job :o)

I must have tried more then 50 stores, but it seems like it's close to impossible to find Lara's outfit here. So there was nothing left to do but make it myself. (If anybody can tell me where I can find a latex green tank top in Belgium, please do!)

The hardest part was the gun belt, but I'm really happy with the result.

After several hours of stitching it felt great to try on my own made Lara outfit. I really enjoyed making my own outfit, even when I stitched my shorts the wrong way ;o) Taking the pictures was also a lot of fun but very exhausting.

It was a very special experience, I loved it all the way!

Now that you know all this, I think there is nothing left to do but tell you something about myself.

I can describe myself as a sportive person. I have been doing Martial Arts since I was 19, skiing since I was 3, snowboarding and I play tennis.

I have studied Economics and Tourism. I also wanted to study Archeology, but due to personal reasons I wasn't able to. :-(

Yet, just like Lara, my interest in ancient cultures is still there! Especially Egypt and Japan are my favourites.

My collection of Egyptian and Japanese things go from books to statues, jewelry and vases.

My dog is also on the picture but his name is Pharaoh, so it doesn't matter ;o)

(This is about 1/3 of my entire collection)

I also like dragons; they are beautiful and they make my fantasy go wild! (Yep, I collect them too!) :-D

But over the years, I had collected so much things about Egypt and Japan, that I had to stop because I had no more room to place them!

There are only two things I am still collecting; EVERYTHING about Lara and dragons.

People tell me I am funny, always in a good mood and ready to listen.

I wish all the participants good luck, and maybe we will meet again in another contest.
